WE ARE NON-PROFIT

Let us tell you a little bit about the foundation

Mmashie Moeketsi Golden Heart Foundation is a non-profit organisation situated in Tladistad Village in Moretele Municipality within the borders of Northwest Province. The foundation has been in operation since 2018, poverty alleviation and job creation in our area is our main objective. Through farming we are managing to feed over 600 pupils of which 150 are mentally challenged. With the vegetables that we produce, 20 poor families are given food parcels every two (2) months. We grow vegetables in our 18 hector farm, 40% of the produce we donate to over 600 pupils from four schools in our ward daily. 60% of produce are sold to the retail stores and big markets. The money is used to pay volunteers, purchasing seeds, fertilizers, electricity and many other activities on the farm.

Our Mission

Mmashie Moeketsi Golden Heart Foundation is to alleviate poverty in our village by growing vegetables and donating them to our network of beneficiaries.

We Established in 2018

The foundation was registered in 2018 and started operating on the 18th of July 2019 (Mandela Day) where we started adopting four schools (two primary, one secondary and special school). The insufficient nutrition grant that the schools receive from the Department of Education made us come to assist, by donating all 9 types of vegetables to them. Our vegetables donation enables the schools to buy fruits for the beneficiaries.

Our Objectives

This foundation is designed to create a continuous supply of fresh vegetables produce that will serve beneficiaries in our area.

  • > Integrate youth into farming.
  • > Donating vegetables to schools.
  • > Donating vegetables to low income households.
  • > Creating jobs
  • > Skills Development
  • > Eradicating of Pit Toilet in Early Learning Centers
  • > Building houses for the poor

SOME FUN FACTS

The 18 hector farm in Tladistad has 8 12mx50m shade net tunnels.
Two green house tunnels enables us to grow any crop throughout the year because the temperature is regulated inside the tunnels.

WORD FROM CHAIR

Our foundation draws inspiration from a Tswana idiom that say "Temo, lore a re ikokotleleng", which translates to farming the pillar let's lean on it. We are continuously changing life's of the previously disadvantage communities through farming. We grow seeds to change life's. Seed for change.
